Beech Hill welcome for Michel Barnier
EU Chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier received a warm Derry welcome to Northern Ireland at the Beech Hill this week.
Mr Barnier enjoyed his stay with us during his two-day visit to Ireland, which included a meeting with civic and business leaders from across the North West region in Derry's Guildhall on Tuesday.
Patsy O’Kane, owner of the Beech Hill, said she was delighted to give the veteran French politician a warm welcome in “true Derry style”.
“We were honoured that Europe’s Chief Negotiator chose to stay at Beech Hill for his first official visit Northern Ireland as the EU's Chief Brexit negotiator. We found it a real privilege to serve the man at the centre of resolving how one of the biggest decisions of a generation will be made.”
Mr Barnier joins a who's who of nternational dignitaries to stay at the Beech Hill. Past guests included political leaders such as President Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry.
